ARUSHI TALWAR MURDER CASE

The murders of 13-year-old Aarushi Talwar and 45-year-old Hemraj Banjade, a male domestic worker employed by her family, remain unsolved in the Arushi-Hemraj double murder case. At first glance, the arushicase seemed to be an honour killing since the evidence indicated that the murder was carried out with extreme precision. • May 23, 2008: Aarushi’s father, Rajesh Talwar, was taken into custody for two separate murders.
  
• June 1, 2008: Noida police handed over the case to the CBI.
  
• June 13, 2008: Talwar’s domestic assistant Krishna was taken into custody.
  
• June 20, 2008: Rajesh Talwar’s lie detector test was performed.
  
• June 25, 2008: After the first lie detection test proved unsatisfactory, Nupur Talwar, Aarushi’s mother, underwent a second one.
  
• June 26, 2008: According to the CBI, the arushi talwar case is a “blind case.” The Ghaziabad Magistrate denied Rajesh Talwar’s bail appeal.
  
• July 12, 2008:Rajesh Talwar received bail.
  
• February, 2009: Rajesh Talwar underwent narcotic analysis testing from February 15 to February 20.
  
• December 29, 2009: Citing “insufficient evidence,” the CBI team filed a closure report. Staff received a clean sheet, and Talwars continued to be the major suspects.
  
• January 25, 2011: Utsav Sharma attacked the Special CBI court premises in Ghaziabad, causing severe injuries to Rajesh Talwar.
  
• Feb 9, 2011: Aarushi’s parents were summoned to appear in court on murder charges after the Trial court rejected the CBI’s closing report.
  
• February 21, 2011:Talwars filed a request to have the trial court summons quashed with the Allahabad High Court.
  
• March 18, 2011:Allahabad High Court rejected their appeal in arushi case.
  
• March 19, 2011:The couple petitioned the Supreme Court.
  
• January 9, 2012: The Supreme Court ruled that Rajesh Talwar, together with his wife Nupur Talwar, would stand trial before the Ghaziabad Magistrate and that the bail that the lower court had given him in the “arushi murder case” would remain in place. 
  
• November, 2013: A special Central Bureau of Investigation court in Ghaziabad found the pair guilty of the double murder and sentenced them to life in jail.
  
• October 12, 2017: Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, a dental couple, were granted the benefit of the doubt by the Allahabad High Court, which found them not guilty in the arushitalwar case.

• People began to embrace this hypothesis so strongly that they mistakenly believed that the case had just been brought to convict the parents and that no investigation had taken place.
  
• All of this resulted in the innocent parents’ right to a fair trial being violated, which in turn caused the innocent people to be found guilty.
